In response to the demand for more accessible authoring tools, Authorware was born. Using Authorware , learning professionals could create learning programs with hyper-simplistic designs, primarily through dragging and dropping icons. While powerful for their time, these tools were not easy to use, requiring complex programming skills.

I’ve been on web conferencing calls on multiple platforms, and have had the wonderful experience of being dropped, having to download a plug-in that takes too long, hearing the double voice – echo chamber, freezing – on my end and the other end – and some general issues. . Do you think this is going to change?

Too many minuses today, including the infamous, if something happens to my laptop/desktop and I lose the app, I have to download again and install. . The world of authoring tools started at the advanced level, Authorware, Toolbook and to an extent DazzlerMax. Personally, I would never buy a desktop authoring tool. Lectora Online .

Web Conferencing tools, requiring you to download plug-ins or other files before you can start – one of the biggest pet peeves among end users, and the number one reason why people fail to get in, ending up calling your administrator, or you. Download a trial or see it via SAAS. In reality, it often is not the case.

Someone did the instructional design, someone else worked on graphics, and then we had a programmer who built the courses in Authorware or some other application. There are many technologies that make up good elearning—audio, video, graphics, and web technologies. That’s usually not the case today. Multi” is the key part of multimedia.
