Learning Environment – Plays a massive role, and goes beyond assigning content to X group, versus Y group (which every system can do), and similar. I’m looking at new capabilities from learning journeys, to tying in additional variables such as job role, skills, even specific content choices. The admin side, ditto.

On the administration side, continues to be well done, but some metric data needs to be improved. I’d like to see more on the administration side, and while the system is top tier, to me it is still missing some data visualization tied to extensive metric data. Metric wise, extremely well done. NexGen is above average.

Authoring tools continued to be a mish-mash, with many continuing to forget what their number one goal truly is – creating content/courses. Articulate Rise, is a cloud-based authoring tool, not a hybrid – and will fully admit as so. Desktop authoring tools are still out there -and yes, I too, ask why. .

I have seen a few posts on LinkedIn by people calling a learning system – learning software. No, it is not learning software. The Sierra Titles of the 90s and early 2000s, were learning software offerings. Job-Role driven. Metrics – They offer it, but rarely will it be as robust as an LMS (as a whole).

Authoring tool? Knowledge Reinforcement systems and/or tools? IOL stands for impact of learning (an actual term for metrics that is better than ROI). Has an LRS – this helps drive those metrics. One component that they are adding is a BI tool (business intelligence) as part of there make-up.
