I'm actively engaged in all kinds of sites that can be roughly described as social networking. Through this, and because of my My LinkedIn Open Connection Approach where I basically treat LinkedIn like a really big business mixer, I have lots of opportunity to "meet" new people online.

If you were running a business and your clientele rose from 3 million to 11 million in just one year, then people would be buzzing about you too. SL is very heavy on the ‘social scene.’ I would choose something like Elluminate Live for my synchronous activities. Elluminate's learning curve is a much more gentle slope.

People keep asking me to do this and I've just been too busy to do a good job of it like you have here! It makes it very simple to distribute your content to lots of social media and draw people from various audiences into one place to have conversation. I have used www.dimdim.com before and Elluminate (but this is not open source.)

Add it to your Elluminate and WebEx profiles. I also suggested that for business networking: Don't use anything other that photorealistic photos. I'm running into you on a business networking site. My goals are generally directed learning goals or maybe I'm thinking about issues with my business or my clients.

Today I was on a panel about social learning. No matter what anyone tells you, no one really has a clue how to “do&# social in the enterprise. Introduction to Social Networking. This is not too difficult when all your participants are social media adepts, you announce your hashtags and off they go. Makes no sense.
