On Twitter you have “retweets”.  What is it called to post the same blog post twice? Probably lazy .  =D In it’s entirety (including some hot air) from the iliveisl blog : We have been messing with many social networking platforms such as Google Groups, Facebook (rock Ener’s world and become a friend ), LinkedIn ( connect to Ener ), Ning, blogging, Twitter (tweet iliveisl or Ener ), Flickr , Blip.tv, CafePress, several Second Life forums, the Second Life Wiki, Wikipedia (as editors), Yahoo 360, del.cio.

There was a brief, but good topic , over on Chief Learning Officer Network that I responded to and I wanted to post my response here (that way you don’t need to create a Ning account if you don’t have one and I can refer to this myself in the future). This sums up my opinion of the our focus on technology in eLearning: I like to keep in mind that these “social media” tools are simply forms of communication.

Today, I released a new resource: Connexions: A Directory of Learning Professionals Online .  This is, in fact, an upgraded version of the Directory of Learning Professionals on Twitter - and allows individuals to provide additional information about themselves and their online presence: their blog, website, Twitter account(s), as well as the social networks (like Facebook, LinkedIn and Ning) where they can be found.  If you are already listed, you can update your entry - and if you are not already listed, you can submit your entry - using the online form . ...

The Best from the eLearning Learning Community

ple ning elearning community socialnetworking.
I've been exploring Ning a little further than I did and compared it to other forums like socialgo, collectivex and grou.ps . Gro.ups is open source, has a lot of similar functionalities to ning (and more- you can upload files easily) and is also without advertisements (for free!). The advantage of ning is that it is slightly more attractive in look and feel. Besides it is getting very popular.
Use Ning to build online communities and memorable learning experiences.  Ning is a free social networking platform that offers a wide array of features and capabilities.  Networks can be public or private, which gives facilitators greater control over the direction of their communities. My recent experiences with Ning (as a learner) have been excellent!  ( Work Literacy Web 2.
Then Dave took the webinar, slides and audio, and put them on SlideShare . Over these last two weeks, to our surprise, the webinar was viewed OVER 1400 MORE times! We are blown away! Obviously, there is a need for this. So, to fulfill the need, we will be taking one objection a week and discussing it on the Social Learning NING group... . ...Tags: SlideShare Social Learning SIG objections slqotd 15 objections ning Podcast social learning webinar.
I checked out NING many months ago and thought is was awesome then...but a little clunky. Haven't looked at it since. Then I see about it coming back to life and so I check it out... WOW! Check out elearndev.ning.com Mark Oehlert is onboard too at eclippings.ning.com So cool!!!!
Several different tools are reviewed, and questions that might be useful for evaluation are discussed. An example of using a social networking tool, Ning, in an online class is reported.
I just joined a new Moodle group: iMoodle , on Ning. This group deals with everything Moodle! Check out the Main page - topics such as  What's New @ Moodle? ,  More from Moodle , and  Moodle Jobs , among others, are discussed.  All the usual Ning features are here, including setting up a "My Page" specific to this group. If you are already in other Ning groups, you can join without building an initial profile.
So I love that now as people ask me about accessing things like social networking sites like ning from within DOD, I can say things like "well we may not be 100% of the way there but DISA had so-and-so for a keynote speaker, that must indicate something.... ...Tags: DISA ning.
This is definitely a knowledge work task where talking to someone will help. Just yesterday (after having joined this ning as my first ning ever) I found a ning on the topic of Moodle, and I posted my question there.
I love it when apps I am using create these little integrations and API's that move one step close to hooking it all up together. My dilemma is trying to find a way to help others do this but my gut is that we are about 5 years away from making all these apps connect as easily as setting up an RSS feed. (PS. Watch the video on RSS if you don't know what that is).
