TurboPhoto provides free stock images from 10 categories all of which are in the public domain. A German site (English and German versions). About $1.50

Back before I started eLearningArt, I worked on a consulting project in a niche industry that had a limited supply of useful stock images. On the other end of the spectrum, we also didn’t want the unprofessional feel of using mismatched clipart. For example, if you’re going to use clipart, that’s fine, but use the same style.

For example, I’m going to be in Baton Rouge next week. This happens to me when I’m working with high resolution stock images. Instead of using the high resolution images during production, use low resolution versions to begin. I created the graphics in PowerPoint using some clipart. I’m doing a session for the local ASTD.
