Depending on the source, stock music can be expensive and in a climate in which it’s hard to get any purchases approved, it may be viewed as frivolous. Here are my top tips for finding and working with stock music. A lot of stock photo sites also have music and sound effects. Show restraint. Search for concrete terms.

Many of us use stock images. This works OK, but the problem with stock images is that they are stock and very generic. You might get a fantastic image, but getting multiple versions of it with the same style and character can be a real challenge. For example, female images often lean towards exaggerated sexuality.
