Here's how you can quickly incorporate Captivate content within a RoboHelp topic: Using Adobe Captivate, create and publish a Captivate video as a SWF. Using RoboHelp, create a RoboHelp topic and type your topic content as you normally would. and choose DHTML > Create Drop-down Hotspot and Text. No worries.

ToolBook authoring tool - this is the DHTML authoring tool used at my company, but prior to this I used TrainerSoft (now Outstart Trainer), which is my preference.

Graphics editing : There is a good chance you will need to create and/or edit graphics for your courses (e.g. Keep in mind some may be DHTML output, others create Flash SWFs. By 2015, I am sure many will create HTML5 files too. Many tools have trial periods or are free. Photoshop or Fireworks).

Some vendors like to stretch this out, but for reports (depending on what you want), the data more often then not, already exists in the system database – so they merely have to create/generate a report that can pull that information for you and then integrate it into your system. The exception – Open source LMS which is free.
