Don’t double compress videos – use uncompressed or lossless formats when compressing to FLV format. Encoding videos to FLV. Before using videos in your Flash project, you would need to encode them in a format compatible with Adobe Flash (FLV or MPEG-4). Supported source formats are: asf, avi, dv, mov, mp4, mpg, mpeg, wmv.

The most important one is Adobe removing restrictions on SWF and FLV/F4V specifications. It’s interesting to note that most popular hybrid application frameworks like Phone Gap , QuickConnect , RhoMobile , Titanium Mobile , are based on HTML5 features to provide a rich application experience. What’s Adobe’s contribution?

Larger files on their own may be no problem, but when multiplied by the size of the audience, it can cause bandwidth problems that affect internet service providers and users. This format file was developed by Microsoft for the Windows Media Player. Be aware that the higher the bit rate, the larger the file size.

I don’t use it as much as I used to now that Articulate’s Studio ‘09 provides a video encoder. For rapid elearning converting to the SWF and FLV Flash formats are important and Format Factory supports this. I mainly use it to convert FLV to other media for easy editing since I can’t find an easy FLV editor. SWF Player.

I was recently asked what video format to use and particularly about the differences between the Flash Video Format (FLV) and Windows Media - WMV Format. They aren't by a long shot, but when it comes to putting video on the web, the Flash Player has rapidly become the only game in town. Why has this happened? Why has this happened?
