I’ve never seen a presentation where the basics, including all facets of the introductory course design, are provided, regardless of the authoring tool or lack thereof. Many times, I have run into whatever the learning system is, it stinks, and when you do a deeper dive, you find the content is the culprit here.

The majority of people creating the courses used authoring tools, such as Authorware (difficult to learn, but robust), Dazzler Max (I used it, learning curve though), Lectora (difficult to learn) and many others that existed then. Everyone I knew, followed the ADDIE approach. All poppycock.
