I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Plateau Performance.

And yeah there are vendors who will taut that they are in X list or Y rankings and thus should be included. This isn’t a beauty contest, nor a pay for play (I NEVER accept that, nor play that game, nor do I accept any referral fees or whatever some vendors offer for recommending them). Not everyone gets in. But I digress.

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. You could say for everyone learner or just a group of learners, you could do this for every publisher that the vendor offered. WBT (Web-Based Training). And people.

My live blogged notes from Corporate University Week. Use Plateau SaaS model as the TMS. Alice Muellerweiss, Dean at Veterans Affairs Learning University Trained 200,000 in the first 9 months of the learning organization. Hard to log in, hard to pull records. We scrubbed everything and went back to the drawing board.

The market continues to grow it is nearly impossible to see every vendor’s latest solution. Additionally, vendors can cease to exist quickly. There are a large number of vendors who support ERP systems, inc. Some vendors use the words “VLE&# – but in a deeper dive, it is a LMS for them. Vendors Reviewed.

Once a darling of vendors who used it to show their demos, now? In fact, in 2019, I did not see one demo from a vendor on Adobe Connect. Personally a vendor can call their system whatever they want, but there are a few factoids to remember about micro-learning. Cumbersome? Not so much. You tell me, is that a good thing?

Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). If you are seeking TM as your focus and you want one of the big dogs – I found Plateau’s system to offer appropriate functionality for it, but found some real concern in other areas (see my product review).
