I like that Virtual Ubiquity is a Massachusetts company. Im on the press page, so I think I should get at invite, dont you? I think Im somewhat of an anomaly in the field. Maybe Im not an instructional designer at all. Rapid e-Learning tools, like Articulate , change the amount of actual technical skill an ID would need within such a group. My company creates customized course development templates for organizations. I dont build courses.

Brent Schlenker of the eLearning Guild, commented on my post Memoirs of an Instructional Designer : Im one of the unfortunate ones with a actual honest to goodness Masters Degree in EdTech. Nothing I learned is actually applied today. One commenter said there is more pressure at academic institutions to have at least a Masters.

Im concerned that women will be excluded if such a focus is put on gaming skills -- or at least the gamer label. Im just raising some questions. I think the idea of the Guild Master ceiling ignores the fact that women in increasing numbers are managers, executives, CEOs and starting and running their own companies.

Im a linear reader in recovery and have been actively learning how to skim books and not feel guilty about it.
