I wonder about this, for scaffolding is important for the effectiveness of resources that are used. It cost me $300. It got me thinking that maybe we should be working towards a matching service of sorts between ID's & Trainers/SMEs in the online learning arena so the effectiveness of such courses can be maximised.

A ‘low-cost’ LMS starts at an average of $58K. Because it’s open source, there are no licensing costs. Our customers benefit from low-cost and self-management with no technical knowledge required. I'm not saying don't use it, (quite the opposite) but just make sure you count the total cost.

New tools make this easier to implement from cost perspective, but still a big time cost to developing/designing learning campaigns. 30-90 seconds. Production costs have dropped – we can start adding a lot more media/engagement to our programs. But there’s room to move. Seems like an ID at work in there.
