The free stock images I shared recently are perfect for building interactive scenarios and establishing visual context. I’ve had a few questions on how to set up the slides using the scenario images, so I’ll show a couple of easy ways to use them. You can create as many layouts as you like in the master slide.

Over the years, I’ve posted hundreds of tutorials using PowerPoint. Create Custom-Sized PowerPoint Slides. You can make a PowerPoint slide any size you want. However, by going to the Design Tab you can set the slides to any size. Export PowerPoint Slides as Images. Some of them to be updated.

Create Characters by Pulling Them Out of Stock Images. You can find a lot of stock images for free. In Storyline , insert a character on the slide and then save as an image. Another way to get the text into your slide is by reading it out loud to transcribe it and insert into your slide. PowerPoint transcribes the text and adds it to the slide. Once it’s ready, import the slides into Storyline. View the tutorial here. View the tutorial here. View the tutorial here.

Once you have the text copied, paste into your new slide. Watch the tutorial on YouTube. It also has an OCR feature where it can pull text from an image that can be copied and pasted into a new slide. Select the course slide. Copy and paste the text into the new slide. Once it’s ready to go live, they need to be removed from the slide. This gets rid of them, but if you need to go back and edit the slide, you need to recreate the references. Move them off the slide. Keep them on the slide , but hide them on the timeline. Put them on the master slide. I like this approach.

Either right-click it and save as.PNG or save the slide itself as.PNG. Watch the tutorial below to get more of the specific detail. Since PowerPoint is linear and doesn’t offer tracking logic, it requires a lot of slides to create the illusion of movement and branching complexity. It was built using a three-slide PowerPoint file and exported as a video. Tutorial: how to create a three-slide video using 3D models in PowerPoint. The completion of the media (the video) triggers the layer to hide which takes us back to the base slide with the side tabs. This should take you back to the base slide.

Here’s a video tutorial that quickly walks through the steps outlined below. Customize slide size. Change the custom slide size to 1:1 (something like 10″ wide and 10″ high). Scale the video to fill the slide. You want the video to be as big as possible inside the slide. Crop video to 1:1.

I created a PowerPoint tutorial that goes through both tips in more detail. In PowerPoint, we can create all sorts of master slide layouts and add a whole host of placeholders. Since the placeholder is designed to hold an image, when you don’t insert an image on the slide, it may end up looking like a big empty spot.

Select a character and insert it on the slide. Name the slide the same as the character or descriptive of the type of poses. In that case, the slide could be titled, Brandon-Holding-Signs. In that case, the slide could be titled, Brandon-Holding-Signs. Once you have a slide with the character, save it as a template.
