I’d recommend using Camtasia since it lets you record your voice over your slide show all directly inside PowerPoint. Finally, click the Record button in the toolbar to launch your slides into a presentation mode and start recording. For this sort of recording, I’d recommend using Snagit. Write summaries, take screenshots (on Windows, I use SnagIt ), and copy and paste the relevant content into your action map or master Word dump. Paste the pulled information where you’ll need it.

Conversion of even big slide shows with lots of images, animation and audio is very fast. I’m not one to often endorse products but, along with my undying love for SnagIt, can say iSpring is worth a look. I don’t make heavy use of video but did try conversions with several video clips in assorted formats and got good results.

If you’re showing a multi-step process and the viewer might only need to look up one part, give a very concise overview at the beginning, whether that’s a slide, clickable table of contents, or brief verbal summary. Snagit is also a great tool for grabbing images and adding text. Make it easy for the viewer to skip ahead.
