How boring is this e-Learning slide? This is a classic example of a slide that could benefit from some content chunking. I actually lost track of how many fonts I used in this slide. How many photos of a cat does this slide really need? Or maybe you just want the slide with the cat pictures. Too Much Text.

Does your course really need a slide on “How to use this e-Learning module?” Yes, you CAN animate that object to fly across the screen as soon as you advance to the next slide. Last but not least, learners hate watching recorded PowerPoint slides with a voiceover added to “spice things up.” Patronizing Tone. Poor Design.

Don’t overload slides with too much text or complicated information. Remember, content refers to your graphics and multimedia too, not just the words on each slide. Try using the Smart Art tool in Microsoft Office to create a quick flow chart that helps you visualize which topics are connected and how to order your course. Bad content.

Trivantis has one and I thank you for that. . I want to scream to every rapid course authoring tool vendor who does NOT have a “how to” create online learning course eBook or guide. Which in this case, are the majority of vendors. If you want to learn how to build courses in the authoring tool, then yes, there are quite a few.

This morning, Trivantis announced the launch of their new product, Snap! information based solely on a presentation given by Trivantis at their user conference. (I Control placement of swfs on a slide (size, placement, more than one). Go back and tweak animations without re-syncing the whole slide. Advantage: Snap!
