What about AICC? Unless you purchased a tool that is only AICC compliant, which in that case, time to ditch it and get another one. If you purchased an AICC only, then you have to find a system that is AICC compliant. It can be SCORM too, but the AICC is the key. . 3rd party content – off the shelf courses.

You can use either your own 3rd party content authoring tool and upload it into the “Cloud&# and then wherever you are, output either to your LMS, or onto Moodle or even WordPress (they have a plug in for that) OR place the course in Facebook or nearly any solution that accepts APIs. Also SCORM 1.2 & AICC. Game Changer!

If you want to track in a learning management system or learning platform that supports SCORM then you want it. If your goal is just to post the course on a server and let people access it, just for the sake of learning and you don’t care about tracking of any sort – then no, you do not need any compliance standard.

In 2002, a company created video courses that were AICC compliant and could be bookmarked. Nowadays, you can create such a front end, but add audio or people moving around, when a click of their mouse, engaging the learner – yes, looking right at them and engaging them, and you engage back.
