Flash SWF Course files created Using Bespoke Adobe Flash FLA: Mostly, these cannot be quickly converted to HTML5 elearning. Some assets can be extracted from published SWF output, more assets can be extracted if you have the FLA files. You could however record your elearning as MP4 and distribute it without interactivity.

The goal was to take a linear PowerPoint file and convert it to engaging and interactive content using our tools. Articulate won the shootout. It might not be the perfect course or highly interactive, but you can fight “the man&# and argue your case for engaging elearning later when the economy is better.

I like its flexibility in making the interactive assets I need for the course and not being constrained by prepackaged interactives that come with many e-learning development tools. Keeping these in a separate folder and launched as individual SWFs will also help keep the file size and load time down.

So instead of using Flash to build a SWF, you’re using PowerPoint to build a SWF. She’s just focusing on the interaction. Duplicate slides that are linked can create interactivity. One of the main challenges when working with PowerPoint was trying to replicate the drag and drop interaction.

In reality, it is simply a single compressed file containing all the files (html, images, flash swf, etc) necessary for the SCO to function. And in order for a SCO to communicate data to and from the LMS as well as potentially provide interactivity and quizzing functionality, it’s going to require more than just client-side HTML.
