Back when I first started developing e-learning courses, I used Macromedia's Authorware. For more interactive elements, I used Flash and imported the SWFs into Authorware. Here is a tutorial on How to Add Basic SCORM code to a Flash Movie from Pipwerks.

They provided just enough to make us dangerous with HTML, Flash, Photoshop and Authorware. No, I do not use Authorware now, but it is hard to predict what will be an essential tool 10 years down the road. Give them a try along with any tutorials available. Five years is tough to predict too, but I will attempt it anyway.

He was an avid Authorware (Macromedia) developer and has continued on over the years to create many different sources of educational materials including Interactive PDF’s, iBooks, and eBooks. I also use Camtasia Studio (at work) and Camtasia for Mac (at home) for creating software tutorials for a wide variety of applications.

The world of authoring tools started at the advanced level, Authorware, Toolbook and to an extent DazzlerMax. The problem though was that folks who had the authorware and so forth experience AND/OR folks who were ID and e-learning developers were stuck. Video tutorials that follow the “show me, let me try it” model.

Someone did the instructional design, someone else worked on graphics, and then we had a programmer who built the courses in Authorware or some other application. Free tutorials. There are thousands of tutorials on sites like Youtube and Screenr. More Than 100 PowerPoint Tutorials & a Free Template.

If it's an e-learning tutorial that you're after, including the usual mix of multimedia and interactions, then you have to make an important choice, between tools that you install on your desktop and online tools: Desktop tools ( Flash , Authorware , Lectora , etc.) For an open source alternative, try EXE.

Tutorials when opening the product – Good, but. Tutorials and Help that in order to use you have to be online. Upon entering Storyline 2, you are immediately provided with a few options on the left side of the screen, tutorials in the middle of the screen. . Templates including ones for layout, quizzes.
