They want to know about free tools that they can use to build their elearning courses. So I don’t want to present a list of tools that might not offer any real value to you. In today’s post, I’ll share with your some of the free tools that I use regularly to help me be more productive. Pixie is a simple color picker.

Video needs to be in the FLV format, but Articulate supplies a conversion tool just in case your video editing software doesn’t convert to FLV. Inserting video uses the Insert Flash tool and has the same options as SWF files. No other development tool does that, nor should they.

The latest version, Articulate ’09, has some interesting new features like Single-slide Preview, FLV Support, Easy Audio Editor, and Articulate Branding Removed. Missing lines in graphs - The PPT graphs sometimes don’t convert properly to Flash, leading to missing lines. You can read more about some of its popular features here.

The free version is all you need to quickly convert most file types to the.pdf format. For more on free editing tools, see Image and Optimization Editors in the Resources section. Most everyone has their favorite online chatting tool. In addition to text chats, I’ll often use it as the tool of choice for video chatting.
