Hocus Pocus Demos. I am a huge fan of demos – whether they be face to face or via the internet. What I am not a fan of, are the demos who are shown in a vanilla style. Ignore what everyone else does and ignore the fact that your system reigns supreme and that demo means so little to the customer.

A good vendor will take that information and apply it to your demo (you want one), inquire for additional questions if needed – after they have had time to review it – post-call; and most importantly as a cornerstone to your pricing. But, for others, that information turns into a pumpkin and its not even midnight.

30% vendors offer at least one type of social media – from my latest LMS directory. Dozens of LMS vendors, had typos on their web pages, zero screens of the system, links that went nowhere and two kicked up my Firewall warning of possible privacy collection and one had a Trojan Horse (I use a hardcore firewall and A/V).

Your mobile web browser. Even if the product is a desktop product all you need to do is upload the course to your own web server, use the vendor’s web server or via a LMS. Regardless of whatever e-learning product you are using that states the ability to view and take assessments, courses, etc.

ATD2015 Conference Post – Review

This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . In all the years I have attended and have known about ATD (formally ASTD), this year is by far the most in terms of e-learning vendors, especially those in the LMS space.
