I learned my first ID model: instruct, demo, practice, assess. We had moved away from proprietary and were now using Macromedia Director. I had never sent an email; I had never made a call on a mobile phone. It sounded really glamorous to me. I had never heard of the term "instructional designer" before.

Since Captivate and Camtasia are close competitors, it is easy to see why certain features are similar in each, but until now I thought that Captivate 6 was going to be an easy choice for video-only demos. It has been a few years since Adobe/Macromedia’s software releases have generated such a buzz in the Community.

A few highlights: The demo I saw was running on a Mac, so that's a plus for me. Michael was, of course, the creator of Authorware, a highly powerful tool from the CD-ROM era, which Adobe eventually gave up on after they inherited it from Macromedia. You can import from PowerPoint or Articulate Studio tools if you need to.

Here’s another feature that I’m really impressed with, the ability to plug-in my iPhone or iPad to my Mac and then have Captivate 9 connect to it and record a video demo of any app. Again I tested this with my iPhone and it works flawlessly. Adobe also introduces Captivate Prime, a new Learning Management System. Conclusion.
