DevLearn 2009 – Day 2 Recap

Day 2 of DevLearn kicked off with a keynote from Eric Zimmerman on Serious Game Design. Our slides will be available on the DevLearn Resources page next week. Google worked with David Metcalf to create a leadership training program that was a mash-up with 7-8 Google tools: Gmail, YouTube, Google Docs, Google Talk, etc.

Nowadays I think that the gig is up, and everyone realizes the scam. Other vendors taking a look at Anders Pink and seeing how they can create a solution that goes even further and do more with curation of content, even via bookmark extensions – in other words a mashup, along with a few other touches. Nice meals.

Don”t fall for the trap that someone has been doing e-learning since 93 or less, because what they are actually stipulating is that they provided CBT and whatever at that point. . The term does not apply to anyone who provides training in the B2B or B2C space, IMO (In my opinion), rather it focused on internal training or learning.

I put up a couple of screencasts that show how to use LinkedIn for Finding Expertise and Searching for Expertise - LinkedIn Answers. Was great at DevLearn. This lines up with what I predicted in 2008. I'm not sure I buy what some of the other LMS vendors are providing around social software. I use it a little bit.
