I realized I left out three additional gems that vendors seem to have just fallen off the planet when it comes to the REAL WORLD! Operating Systems. They are not going away, and yet an enormous amount of vendors do not support them, let alone Safari. Because in order to use 64 bit, you have to have a system that supports 64 bit.

Oh, e-readers – sure down the pipeline. All the big browsers are supporting it i.e. Safari, Chrome, Microsoft IE9, Opera and soon FireFox (at time of writing, not yet). Yes: Apple Safari , Firefox 4.0 (not Safari does support Microsoft OS (Operating Systems). E-Learning 24/7. Can I see HTML5 sites now?

LMS Vendors: U Can Survive – Innovate, Invigorate and Invent

In the webinar, I brought up how LMS vendors were themselves perpetuating the myth of the bad things of social media (which is a necessary component of social learning), so, rather than identify the facts and data to potential clients who are concerned about social media and thus social learning, they instead do not include it in their system.

That said, why is this happening: A significant (over 90%) of vendors are holding off this year and at least part of next year from optimizing their solution to the iPad. But with LMS vendors jumping into the mobile learning sector, at least in some cases, it may be a tad misleading. Firefox 4.0? Dolphin HD?

The ones who may not are those who identify themselves as “Training mgt systems and alike” – because they are really focused on the course authoring tool and are not a LMS in the true sense of the word. Congrats, you are probably looking at less than 10 (based on my LMS directory which contains 475 vendors).
