Perhaps this is because older versions of PowerPoint (2003 or below) didn’t have as many graphic editing options as never versions (2007 or higher). If you used custom motion paths in PowerPoint 2007, you may think a setting you previously used has disappeared in PowerPoint 2010. In PowerPoint 2007, to get to Curved Motion Paths, you would select from the Animation Pane Add Effect > Motion Paths > Draw Custom Path > Curve. by AJ George.

Using motion paths in PowerPoint is fun, but also kind of complicated. The problem is PowerPoint only shows you where the image begins in the motion path.   Adding audio to a PowerPoint 2010 slide is simple. From the Animations tab, locate the Effect Options button and click the More Arrow below it to Show Additional Effect Options. by AJ George.   If you find yourself in need of a Venn diagram, there are a few basic Venn diagrams available via PowerPoint's SmartArt. Add an animation (I like Zoom for this purpose, but select whatever you like) by choosing Animations > Add Animation > More Entrance Effects. All you need to do is create a few circles and an oval.
