I thought Patrick Dunn did a nice job presenting the difference between e-learning designers of the "last century" who follow the addie method to create courses (click me, read me) and thus bored learners, vs. todays e-learning designers who "create experiences". But its more than that.

Usually the most I can get away with is presenting the objectives as benefits that the learner will enjoy, instead of listing trainer-speak objectives.
