It’s one big drawback – no support for SCORM, but hey, since it is ideal for sticking in to your course, rather than as a standalone authoring tool, it works. Pricing is low.

Some systems now clearly state their security level, AES 256 bit for example, so if you are that concerned ask them. I now pronounce you Authoring Tool and LMS, you may now integrate/interface. I’m still a believer that it is wise to use a 3rd party authoring tool rather than use an authoring tool built into a LMS.

It is worth the extra dollars to purchase a LMS that comes built in with an authoring tool. Actually, I see no real advantage for having a built-in authoring tool, other than it generates some more revenue for the vendor. But it is a rapid e-learning authoring tool stripped down, nothing more.
