I know of companies who only hire instructional designers and buy Rapid elearning tools and expect the ID to do it all themselves to reduce the cost and over head of hiring graphic designers as well. I have never taken a course in adult learning theory. My current business card says Im a "Manager of Instructional Design". Got a job at an awesome company. In the mid-90s, I made the leap to a multimedia training company. I was there for 5 years, and then the company went under. But at this point, Im here to stay.

Having just a bachelors degree seems to be fine as long as you arent working directly for the universities (Im not sure about K-12 online). What do you do?

Im concerned that women will be excluded if such a focus is put on gaming skills -- or at least the gamer label. Im just raising some questions. I think the idea of the Guild Master ceiling ignores the fact that women in increasing numbers are managers, executives, CEOs and starting and running their own companies.
