This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . In all the years I have attended and have known about ATD (formally ASTD), this year is by far the most in terms of e-learning vendors, especially those in the LMS space.

The other issue is that the people providing the information are also limited to what you have stated. You want a system that accepts third party authoring tools that are SCORM compliant – unless the system is one of those hybrid platforms or doesn’t accept standards (and a few do), no problem. The latter is slowly gaining speed, which is an advantage to LMS vendors who have a CAT in their own product – which is SCORM,PENS/IMS compliant. Over 98% of the LMS/LCMS/learning platform have at least one compliance standard, so why use a RCAT that doesn’t? Privacy issues continue to plague Facebook.

Parents can enroll as well, while I get the value of it – if my Mom enrolled when I was a kid – I would not be hip on that – can we say “Big Brother”? (K-12). An extremely poor UI IMO.

The breakouts I think make sense, since it a system that is “Lite” typically does not have the same feature set as a standard system. Listen to their issues (if they used a system in the pass). When you are training someone or presenting online or face to face and you have only 60 minutes, the standard rule: No more than 2-3 minutes for an introduction. It should never happen in sales. Empower, but I ran into a major issue with Snap! is not the only product which has an issue with a 64 bit Windows computer but in combination with PPT 2010, I’m unaware of any other. Duration (same issue as above) – but keep size. A slight issue I had with Empower! What was it? Great question and no answer.
