I can honestly say, the ATD show is changing from ILT driven (it has always been that way) to e-learning improvement. This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . Thank you, thank you. On with the show (no pun intended). Good Surprises.

SumTotal Learn includes 80 Skillsoft courses when you buy their system. You ILT seminar is two hours. This is a very smart thing to do, regardless of you are only ILT, a blended fan or going full e-learning. For example, eLogic includes content/courses with their LMS, as part of purchasing the system.

or with your payroll (ADP), or HRIS platform, or Skillsoft or whatever – 95% can do it – but it will cost you. Finally, ILT is still in demand – but I believe that by 2020, 95% of learning will be online and not instructor/classroom based. HRIS modules are showing up in LMSs, but so are benefits and payroll.

While it continues to be hot in the corporate ILT environment or along those lines, it isn’t in the LMS space. Yes it will be a splash, it’s Workday after all, but their product IMO is targeting some certain folks i.e. Cornerstone, SuccessFactors, SumTotal by Skillsoft and to a lesser degree Saba.

Others in HR who do move or are forced to (not universal) follow the same approach (ILT) when it comes to courses – i.e. linear and heavy PowerPoint. Data supports success in e-learning over ILT, but hey there are people who still use VCRs (sorry, VHS is never returning – but hey, you can get a tape for less than a buck!).
