Going to a stock image site and looking for just the right pictures can be very time-consuming and a drain on your limited resources. Why not create your own stock images? A lot of images appear grainy because there’s not enough light. Keep the image in focus. Divide your image in thirds.

Another way to create color schemes to manually pick colors from an image. In the tutorials I did for Storyline, I show how to use the color picker to pick colors from a background image. Visual Design Mistake 1: Images are Scrunched & Not Scaled. An image is inserted and then to make it fit or move it, it gets moved from the top or side anchors on the bounding box. This scrunches the image and makes it look a little off. Or going a stock photo site and trying to come up with ideas.

You don’t need to be a graphics artist, but you should know the difference between a bitmap and vector image because they play a role in the quality of what you see on the screen. The ones that get pixelated are bitmap images. When you scale the image, you’re scaling the pixel. When you scale the image, you’re scaling the pixel.

By keeping all of the clip art images within the same style and color palette, I’ve cut the visual clutter, built cohesion, and increased focus on the slide content. Much like stock photography, the trick to using clip art well is to keep it styled in a way that reinforces your message. Hint: Think big picture and focus on one thing.
