But even when theres a visual that needs examination, it might be more effective to provide a rollover rather than explaining the image with an audio presentation. Youre right.

Slide 22 of Stephen Downes presentation includes a diagram: Messy vs. Neat. Is a messy training program just one in which the presenter is clearly not organized? The training doesnt teach what the participants want or need (failure to consult with actual learners while designing the program). But Im learning.

wait, Im getting verbose. Push most of the content out to job aids and then just present the learner with a few compelling scenarios. Cathy Moore urges us to chop the basic fluff out of the course. So its interesting to think about this underadditive effect where "total brain activation goes down" if presenting in both visual and auditory at the same time.
