Question: Tracking CBTs

Experiencing eLearning

My experience has mostly been in higher ed, so I’ve always needed to do grading or more tracking than what this reader needs: I am the sole person involved with e-Learning in my branch, and I am mostly limited to using freeware. What would you suggest for administering and tracking CBTs for this reader?

In chat, Alan Selig pointed out that using tools outside the LMS is important b/c they’ll have them after they graduate. Life is not a closed situation like an LMS. New tools pop up all the time.

Includes a “Start here&# link in the navigation I think this might be a good thing for us to copy when we switch to the new LMS. This is all stuff we’re already working on with PLS courses–nice to see that we’re on the right track. Navigation. Submenus have instructional goals explicitly visible.

Keeping Up - April's Big Question

When I do find interesting tools I will keep track of them using my Delicious account. So, I browsed "Tools" by keyword on eLearningLearning. I also like to make occasional visits to Google Labs and Adobe Labs to "keep up" with the tech tools they are working on and to test drive any beta versions available.

Spreading them out as a yes/no proposition is the fast track towards the kind of polarization that keeps change from happening. I do however, completely agree that allowing the tools to flex to the user if far better than a normative course based system.
