They involved talent management, “hello and goodbye” with vendors, social learning, upswing in mobile learning, new feature sets in the authoring tool space, flat lining in web conferencing and standalone platforms. LMSs/LCMS/CMS/learning platforms in commercial and open space continued their presence.

billion dollars in revenue – Q3 2012 (Engadget, 2012). I loved the term that vendors started to push in 2012 and continue to do so in 2013 – “scalability” It makes me laugh. What they are trying to do is to offer an alternative to an open source platform which allows unlimited users.

Continued increase in the number of vendors, regardless of size or target customer size (i.e I am projecting that by the end of 2012, you will see HRIS features come into play, but more so as an additional cost module. I expect to see over 80% of the market go SaaS by the end of 2012. Open Source Systems.
