The final rankings will be the top 25 LMSs of 2013, will be posted in December. Also they have no online/offline synchronization which is becoming important to those TPs focusing on B2B and even B2C channels. #8 How a vendor of this size and quality can have this business approach in this day and age is beyond me.

LMSs – Finally vendors took notice. Authoring Tools – With only a small sample of vendors that are SaaS based, pickings are slim. Despite overall consumer demand (not just within e-learning) for tablets, and numbers showing that tablets are outselling notebooks, e-learning vendors as whole are sitting back and waiting.

How about – Litmos actually skinning the product themselves – as the majority of vendors do – at no additional charge or more simple click customization options. Currently, Litmos does not offer the ability for online/offline synchronization with a mobile device.

Built-in help desk – It is on the rise and I expect it to continue into 2013. Reduces costs to vendor, which is big because everyone knows that support inc. While many vendors pitch mobile learning they seem to be stuck on the idea that people are not interested in online/offline synchronization.

Equation tool – I’ve seen more vendors add this thing – and unless you are in education I can’t see why you would use it. Work offline with their optional Studio Server – extra charge. Synchronized transcripts – ideal for video. Themes, interactions. Collaboration. Learning notes – nice.
