Earlier this year I wrote an article teaching you how to take PowerPoint content and create eLearning using either TechSmith Camtasia Studio or Adobe Presenter. Over the next two weeks, I'm going to show you how to use your PowerPoint content in Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline. Adobe Captivate and PowerPoint.

Should be able to import/export content (like PPT, DOC, or simple HTML), and allow for edits after import. Should be able to import external Flash SWF as well as audio and video in variety of popular formats. During a standard PowerPoint import process, PowerPoint pptx presentations are first converted to the ppt format, and then converted to SWF. In Captivate 6, if you select the new High Fidelity option, the import process will take native pptx files directly to Captivate SWF (the ppt conversion is skipped).

In Adobe Captivate 5.5, PPTX files were converted to PPT files during import and therefore some features of the PPTX files were not imported into Captivate projects. Adobe® Captivate 5.5 : PPTX -> PPT -> SWF Adobe® Captivate 6 supports direct conversion from PPTX to SWF without converting PPTX to PPT.

Products used in this example: Adobe Captivate (2017 release). If you do not have the 2017 release of Adobe Captivate, download a trial version of Captivate. Open Adobe Captivate. To import the PPT, click File > New Project > Project from MS PowerPoint. In the Publish dialog, select the SWF/HTML5 tab (top left).
