SCORM’s premise, not what it can or cannot do, was its huge premise of interoperability—far more so than AICC. The idea was that you have content in SCORM and add it to your learning system that accepts SCORM, and tada, it works without any problems or issues. In the late 80s, AICC, the predecessor to SCORM, was born.

Netscape showed up, and dominated the market. We did Online Learning in the 60’s – False Narrative There were systems back in the day, where they could be run on your own server, used via a CD-ROM, via WAN or LAN, but to me, that isn’t and e-learning LMS. It was text, that’s it. Sure folks.

Some organizations still have a big investment in legacy content that communicates using the SCORM or AICC formats. Since SCORM/AICC is such an old standard, the newer platforms such as WordPress will not support it. E-Learning – Delivering e-learning should be no problem on this platform either.
