My company creates customized course development templates for organizations. Course developers (who may or may not be instructional designers) use Flash to create courses, but they dont need to know how to use Flash at all. Rapid e-Learning tools make building courses almost as easy as writing documents in Word. Easy breezy.

I get paid more to create training materials. Why, I do not know, as generally speaking, the user guides I write are more complex than the training materials I create. Part of that reason is in how I just said the difference - I write user guides, but I create training materials - thus, the "design" of ID.

Other benefits of working with two monitors: 1) Have a source document open on one screen and be writing a proposal/storyboard/script on the other. And I think I just figured it out: set your preferences and then let your computer sit idle for a long time so it can "crawl" and create an index. Very useful feature. Take the Survey!

The document is sent out to everyone, then the whole team gathers in a conference call and walks through the story board together. Ideally, the team has reviewed the document beforehand and has all of their comments, but more often than not, this is their first look at it. Something that wont fit in a templated format. I would go be creating a ISM (Instructional Strategy Matrix) which breaks content in a MLTP (Module lesson Topic Page)structure. Once this structure is made, this document can be used for two reasons, Seat time and Effort hours for estimation. Do you create this ISM when youre still in the pricing phase? 6:11 AM corrie said.

There’s no vendor who creates Moodle per say. Well, it’s true that Moodle was originally created for academic use and it already has a great foothold in the academic world.
