While I think there are many legitimate reasons why an organization should partake in virtual immersive environments (VIEs) for learning and collaboration, there are also some "less-than-comfortable" reasons organizations are leaning in this direction. S top, proceed with caution. The same thing happens in organizations.

In a world, not so long ago, blended learning was the norm. Before education moved to the confines of a traditional classroom, training was imparted through experiential learning and lessons had ‘show me’ and ‘let me’ ways of training. They are– the Rotation model, the Flex model, the Self-Blend model and Enriched Virtual model.

In a 3D world, the interaction with the students feels more intimate than with a 2-D distance learning application such as Centra, Horizon Wimba or Adobe Connect. Another question and this one is simple.why 3D? We've got plenty of great 2D platforms for communication, what does 3D add? Here is a short answer.

The diverse group is trying to work toward determining the best ways of teaching within a virtual world. The latest version of Adobe PhotoShop and Flash, Lectora, Adobe Captivate, Plateau (LMS), Adobe Connect, and Saba's Centra to name a few. They blog, contribute to wikis, and design instruction for a 3D virtual environment as well as create web sites for mobile learning devices. Fourth, our students stay on the cutting edge.
