Well, lets just say that theres no denying now that Im almost 40. Wednesday, July 11, 2007 My 100th Post In honor of my 39th birthday (which is today), I write my 100th post (which seems improbable). In fact, I think Ill just start saying that I am 40. This seems significant for no real reason.

Im a Word power-user and love all the little tricks and shortcuts. All of my project information is in one place. Now Ive left Word behind and am writing everything directly in the wiki. Ive had to get used to the formatting -- or lack thereof. I miss them. But the payoff is huge. I dont have to open 800 documents.

I also kept the LibraryThing listing books Im currently reading (or have read or intend to read at some point.), It has a Facebook widget feel to me, but I think its ok here. I did keep the Instructional Design Resources list, which seems to be useful to people. as this does get a lot of interest (aka "hits"). What do you think?

The Friend Connect feature on a site acts as a small peephole on a Web page allowing content from a preselected social network (including Facebook, Google Talk, hi5, orkut, Plaxo, and others)to be viewed within the predefined window. That white paper would be a prize itself. The comments are quite interesting too. From the land of Huh?

Back to the Google Desktop -- Im playing around a bit with the searching capabilities and am seeing the light. Im struggling a bit with figuring out how to set the preferences so that it searches where I need it to search (I save most of my files to a shared network drive; not locally). So the search feature -- I get that and Im sold.
