A product called Macromedia Flash (being used with web sites) became a go to for course development. Macromedia Dreamweaver came out with templates. Things called Layers existed – a common term used in Adobe Photoshop, but for WBT? Other course authoring tools started to appear right after Authorware. I used DazzlerMax.

This is a huge upgrade, and the first time Adobe has released a unified upgrade for all the Adobe and former Macromedia products. Photoshop CS4 Extended. The upgrade from most CS3 bundles is $599, even the old Web Standard which did not include Soundbooth, Photoshop or Illustrator. Flash CS4 Professional. Illustrator CS4.

Because it is Adobe – the same folks who came up with Photoshop a long time ago, who brought us Premiere – a long time ago and who bought Macromedia – again, a long time ago. Feature wise the product has quite a bit, but my biggest gripe with Adobe is that this product always seems to be behind its top competitors.
