Some vendors refer to multi-tenant as portals and sub-portals, or business hierarchy with separate tenants. Q: Does it cost extra for sub-tenants aka sub-portals aka as children? Q: Does every learning system offer multi-tenant (with sub-tenant/portals/children)? same features, capabilities, etc. The difference?

Talk to anyone who has a multi-tenant (multi-portal) platform and immediately they will pitch that they are ideal for any markets including the B2B. Ability to skin/brand each sub-portal/tenant/instance/child separately, so if there are 25 children, then each child has a different skin/brand than the parent (main site) and so forth.

A: Sue Rodeman - I believe that in the next few years, one change to the LMS is that it will be more of a ‘behind the scenes’ engine and more completely integrated with an organization’s portal or internal application. Meridian KSI. Successful LMS’s will be modeled after the way people are sharing and accessing information today.

Maybe it was called Talent Portal, I can’t remember – it was a long week. Meridian is coming out with a new version targeted later this year, but I sense it will be around by the end of Q2 2016. Oh, you can change the labels on the back end – administrator side. Talent Pool comes with the learning product.
