Manager Training Online Courses

Thus far I've looked at Element K, SkillSoft, Vital Learning, Ninth House, and Achieve Global. I received an inquiry from someone I know, and I'm hoping people who read this blog can make suggestions. I'm looking for vendors who supply off-the-shelf training for basic manager skills such as, time management and delegation. What I like about these providers is the scope of what they offer -- many courses to choose from. Are there other providers you'd recommend I look at? Those vendors are certainly at the top of my list and I'm not sure I have other suggestions. And why?

When you look back at 2000-2002, companies getting VC funding were folks like Outstart, Hyperwave, Infocast, Element K, Pathlore, Vuepoint, Knowledge Impact. I'm not sure if other people are seeing this, but based on a bunch of conversations and calls, it appears that there is a wave of new startups being created right now and the trend is accelerating. Because of my background working with leading startups, e.g., eHarmony, MyShape, LoanToolbox, etc., What's interesting about the new wave is that most are targeting outside of traditional eLearning solutions.

The LMS Debate rides again

Clark Quinn

Yes, Dave Wilkins of Learn.com and Tom Stone of Element K have already argued that the label is still needed in the marketplace, but I’m really trying to shift the way people think about what their role is, and to me using the label LMS is a major barrier to shifting out of the comfort zone. Well, Saba called me out in an semi-anonymous (there’s a picture, but I don’t know who of, and there’s no name – in social media?) blog post on the LMS debate (a bit late to join the fray, no?). And you don’t want to manage it so much as support it.
