Before I start with any of my actual predictions, let me throw in an overall prediction that the year is going to start off slow for most people, but by the end of the year, we will all be thinking: “Wow, 2010 was a crazy year!” And probably will get some more ideas from the Big Question - Predictions and Plans for 2010.

Or 2010 for that matter. Metrics – These will tell you the story of learning. How many clients they have – Sounds great for sales pitches, but I have no idea, maybe a chunk were free, or friends of the family and giving them a smartphone wasn’t in play. The metrics/analytics totally rock – I mean ROCKS.

Did someone say metrics? Metrics that actually matter to your learning and training? Where in some systems it is extremely equal and in some cases better than a BI (Business Intelligence) tool? Segmentation and advanced metrics are showing up more and more. I build successful e-learning programs around metrics.

Sure in some cases it did poorly, but it wasn’t because the idea wasn’t sound, it was due to the way the learning was presented. In the early 2010’s, I remember talking to Saba, who told me privately they say themselves as a performance management system, while publicly pushing themselves as an LMS.
