For example, Meebo is more dedicated to chat, but there’s more overhead to get hooked up (it connects all IM channels, but you’d have to be on IM). You couldn’t do it in video or audio. Tags: social. It’s an interesting issue, but it’s really all about tradeoffs.

In the context of e-Learning (back then it was just plain old CBT), this meant you had audio/video on the screen with timed text bullets. The learner could listen to the audio if her preferred style was auditory, OR read the text if her preferred style was visual. Im with you. I always tune out the audio and read ahead.
