Google Wave as a Mashup? When I was discussing Mashups and pointed to the Twitter Captivate Integration and my example of taking notes/asking questions widget, someone suggested: Google Wave looks like it has a lot of potential for that Great point! It won’t take any more time than what we currently have.

January's Big Question at the Learning Circuits blog asks for our 2010 predictions. Google Wave will be released as a much less cumbersome application than the current beta version, but will struggle with adoption by general public. So, here we go; m-Learning continues to grow. and what is best blended.

For me it is a blog community and following many experts on Twitter. Many of the blogs I follow are part of the eLearningLearning community. I also like to make occasional visits to Google Labs and Adobe Labs to "keep up" with the tech tools they are working on and to test drive any beta versions available.

My students have encouraged me to blog (way back when), taught me about software like ThinkingWorlds and have encouraged me to check out new things. For example, Google's Wave was all the rage a while back and, while it is interesting, I am not that engaged with it. Listen to what is going on with technology.

For example, when I view my blog's content through the eLearning Learning lens , it shows me that relative to other sources of content in the system, I tend to talk about: eLearning 2.0 (130) I often will use this technique when I run into a new company to see if anyone is blogging about it and generally what is associated with it.

So I sit down at my desk this morning, opened up Gmail as I always do and noticed Google Buzz. I read like 61 trillion tweets about Google Buzz over the past few days so, of course, I was fatigued with it to begin with. Tweets, blog posts, RSS feed just loaded with it. I dunno because I’ve already forgotten Google Wave.)

Take blogs, for example. Blogs were geeky lists of pointers and commentary. Then the public embraced blogs. There are more than 100 million blogs. Now that blogs have “crossed the chasm to wide-spread consumer acceptance, corporations are using blogs to capture expert knowledge and the lessons of experience.

Google is teaching people to use more of its services in online courses. Google could have produced a slick, buttoned-down, tech-oriented training program, like they did for Google Wave, but this time around, Google chose a friendly, avuncular fellow to lead you through the ondemand session.

I have seen and taught with a tool called ProtoSphere that has a 3D virtual environment interface but also includes blogs and wikis, an interface with MS SharePoint, the ability to locate experts within an organization, application sharing and the ability to launch e-learning courses. Alternatively, the product Google Wave is impressive.
