I was just asked about trends in open source for eLearning and particularly open source eLearning tools. You can find a long list of tools broken into authoring tools, games/simulations, quiz/test tools, social media, delivery platforms, tracking and whether they support mobile. Here’s some of what I pulled out.

This demo is close to the type of interactions one might build in a real e-learning course. There’s layers of information and other clickable content, interactive dials, and an easy-to-spot quiz. So when you want to build a quiz, you use Quizmaker. But when you want to build “regular” elearning, then you use something else. Use Your Quiz Application to Build Interactive Scenarios. Quizzing products typically use forms to create the quiz questions. This is why most quizzes have that boxy quiz look.

I always joke about how many times I’ve had to take a course on how not to receive bribes, yet I’ve never been in a job where I was important enough to be bribed.
