I just finished reading a blog post on Read/Write Web - eLearning 2.0 - All You Need to Know. I'm a big believer in eLearning 2.0 and it's interesting to R/WW's take on eLearning 2.0. As you read through the post, you really don't get any sense for what eLearning 2.0 They talk about things like Nuuvo (more or less an LMS), Google Apps (online applications) as examples of eLearning 2.0

Using SharePoint

The reality is that what we did on the Work Literacy course or what I did for my Collaborative Learning Course could easily be supported by the various types of web parts within SharePoint. Using SharePoint to Publish to Content to the Web Several training organizations were using SharePoint as a means of publishing web pages for public consumption. This is similar to support for courses and much of the web parts used, follow-up techniques, etc.

Saw a post by Matthew Franz - where he tells us - I don't get e-learning 2.0 - and it made me wonder if Franz is a training specialist - who's not looking at more than training as a model for learning. are fundamental workplace tools in the same way that other tools (office applications, web applications, the Internet etc.) Yes, everything you do should be about learning and creating knowledge, but this is different from Learning with a Big-L and little-l learning.

Interestingly, I think the algorithms that Google relies on for searching the public web (based on incoming links) will not work nearly as well as older algorithms based on frequency, semantic interpretation and other techniques.
