I found a free desktop image made available by Anastasia Kolisnichenko. I used the free image to create an interactive course prototype for an upcoming workshop activity. In this example, the images all need to be wide, but short rectangles so that I could get them about the same height as the text and squeeze them as close as possible to the button stacks in Rise 360. When I save the PowerPoint slides as images that results in an image that is 1280 x 384 pixels. 07:45 | Save slide as image.

Essentially video is just a media asset like a picture or shape. We discussed it in this blog post on finding free stock images. Just type in your search and you’ll see the older image search. It’s a gimmicky app with limited use, but recently I needed to create some Polaroid like images for a demo and it came in handy.

Another way to create color schemes to manually pick colors from an image. In the tutorials I did for Storyline, I show how to use the color picker to pick colors from a background image. Visual Design Mistake 1: Images are Scrunched & Not Scaled. An image is inserted and then to make it fit or move it, it gets moved from the top or side anchors on the bounding box. You can go with straight lines, thick/bent lines, filled in shapes, square or oval bodies, or just trace over pictures. As far as the expressions, I’d probably build the expressions as images that I can copy and paste into faces. Have you ever applied hand drawn images to your courses? Cover images are mostly decorative. And because of the responsive nature of the Rise courses, the cover image gets cropped based on the screen’s aspect ratio. The key is keep the cover images simple. Solid backgrounds are good because you don’t get that blocky color striping that you get with pictures.
