One of our Atlantis University team, Tillman Swinke, recently published a blog post called 'This time it's personal' where he deals with the subject of motivation in relation to informal learning. For it is within the PLE that students can truly pursue their own interests, motivate themselves to learn and generally capitalise on their personal talents and skills. What a Corker

Learning with e's

I'm just back from a lively 5 days in Cork where we (the Atlantis Project team) have been involved in the first of two weeks of intensive study. Our thanks go to Coleen and the rest of the team for taking the time out to show us around and answer all our questions. I did a dry run using the 'It's personal' slides, which I was to use later for the PLE/PLN online symposium.

Personalized Learning Experience (PLE). You may know more of it as personalization or localization, but if you take a real deep dive you will see more vendors going PLE. Tool Set 2009

Tony Karrer

I'm hoping to address questions such as: How do you create a personal tool set or Personal Learning Environment (PLE) for yourself? Setting up a SharePoint for a community or work team is very different from teaching them about Personal Learning. For example, Personal Learning , PLE , PWLE , PKM are all pretty closely related. But when I go to PLE and then look at the related Tools, I'm not seeing clear winners.

Personal Work and Learning Environments (PWLE) - More Discussion

Tony Karrer

There's a great deal of discussion about whether or not a PLE should be a single tool or a collection of tools loosely joined. I'm not quite happy yet with PWLE (p-Whale) as a unifying term - but I prefer it to either PLE or PKM because both of those seem to be taken; somewhat limited in their scope and also seem to imply separation from day-to-day work
