To combat “boring” eLearning experiences, programs like Adobe Flash and Director came on the scene with an animated bang (anyone else remember the bird crash vector animation from the early Flash demos?) PowerPoint driven applications like Articulate Presenter and iSpring certainly make eLearning easier to create.

Click here to view the demo. Here’s a demo of a slide with three videos on it and following are the basic steps. If you use Articulate Presenter, hide slides 2-4 and set the branching on the player controls to go back to slide 1 and forward to slide 5 (if you had one). And here are a couple of demos that show the difference between a headset and desktop mic. There are also a few community members who also shared what they use and recorded some demos. For example, in the LINGOs course we built , we inserted the Engage interactions as Flash files and then moved the.SWF up to hide the black title bar.

Get rid of those things that might make noise, flash lights, or do something else to get your attention while recording. Many of my demos require that I jump from one application to another. Here’s a demo of how to use a virtual desktop. 980×560 is perfect for videos in the no sidebar view mode in Articulate Presenter.

When I managed a team of Flash developers I rarely ran into the same branding requirements that I did when using PowerPoint. The final output is Flash. And most clients don’t know much about Flash. Why is that?

Besides, when you build something in PowerPoint and you publish it with your rapid elearning software, it becomes Flash.

While the demo is simple, the approach opens the doors to all sorts of interactions. They’ll work in PowerPoint, but probably not when converted to Flash. It’s similar to David’s.
